HomeTown Pharmacy LTC is committed to the support of technological advancement in our facilities.  Through our pharmacy operating system, QS1, we are able to interface with any electronic medication administration record (eMAR) using the standard HL7 programming code.  This capability lends itself to numerous efficiencies to be realized during medication administration within your facility.  Dependant upon your eMAR system, it is possible to automatically reorder refills via bar-coding, view and download patient ancillary orders into your system, and create reports in real-time.  Furthermore, your doctor may now e-prescribe directly from the PC’s or laptops located at your nursing stations into a HomeTown Pharmacy LTC system.  The value of a med-pass that has bar-code verification has been proven to increase safety and efficiency, things that can create a competitive advantage for any Long Term Care site. 

For those facilities that do not have eMAR technology, HomeTown Pharmacy LTC is in the process of enhancing our website.   The website will allow facilities to re-order medications online, change ancillary orders, view patient profiles, and facilitate Physician’s e-prescribing.  Our goal is to accommodate all facilities, regardless of the degree of technological advancement in their building, and work as a partner with them as they evolve.
